try sarteano in tuscany near chiusi, chianciano. i have been many times, really cute little town in a valley but with lots to do in july. street festas, great food, wine, nice fresh water pool, and the best ice cream from 'diavoli' i have ever tasted. beautiful scenery specially if you wanna drive around. it will be very hot then but there are lakes nearby too to cool you off with some water sports.

Planning hol to tuscany?

I know none of these places. I do know that although it is cheap to camp, there are places outside the cities where you can camp for free. We asked permission from the locals and ended up not paying a penny. Some of them fed us too. Hostels are a little more but quite cheap too. I recomend you visit Florence as this is my favourite city.
